“Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained.”
-Marie Curie
Hating on others, criticizing others, discouraging and subverting others—these behaviors usually stem from a loss of belief in yourself. I say loss because at some point, every one of us did believe in himself, in his dream, in his boundless potential. But something—someone even—happened. And just like that, the grand edifice collapsed like a house of cards.
What happened exactly?
More importantly, what are you going to do about it?—today. How long will you allow their waves to batter you before you sink beneath the sea? How long will you accept their “hot air” before they snuff out your flame? How long will you endure their lashings before you become irretrievably scarred?
You have a choice. Stop watching what everyone else is doing as it will only make you feel like shit. Someone else always has something that you want. But you must fully engage in your own life. You must nurture it. Bond with it. Grow with it. And insodoing you will attain heights beyond all previous expectations—yours, and theirs. The first step is to believe.
