There are invisible hands
behind the scenes
pulling the strings
that move the world.
You are not in control.
Whether it rains or snows,
only nature will know
how the weather unfurls.
They may spy, they may sneak,
and watch like big brother.
They may lie, They may cheat,
and manipulate others.
When words prove graceless,
your actions maligned,
keep faith when clock strikes,
that you can respond in kind.
But in the mean time…
You are not in control.
You cannot get the girl
through money or muscles
or drinks at the bar.
Simply put your best foot forward,
and accept things as they are.
