This month marks 2 years since I first started my blog. I feel honored to have received close to 20,000 views almost exclusively through word-of-mouth. Thank you all, dear readers. If you feel that my writing has had a positive effect on you, then please pass it along. I would much rather spend what little free time I have in order to work on producing quality content than to spend it on aggressive advertising and affiliate marketing.
Of course my blog is not the only thing that has transpired in the last 2 years. I also went through 3 job changes, 2 moves, and 2 serious break-ups. In retrospect, I am grateful for these experiences because of what I have learned from them, and about myself. Now that I’m settled in Southern California, living what I consider to be a great life and sharing it with who I consider to be great people, part of me would like to say that it will be just calm seas from now on. But I’m reminded of a quote I once read: “A ship in a harbor is safe, but that’s not what ships are built for.”
The biggest event of all though, has been the creation and cultivation of my faith, faith in the power of individuals to make a difference. Whether your goal is to write a book, to be an outstanding mother, or to simply be an example to others of how to live a purposeful life, if you are someone who is on a journey, who seeks answers, who chooses to feed their mind with good books, inspiring videos, or even my blog (!), then I imagine you are also someone who believes in change. Each one of us was born with a gift to give and a dream to live. It may not always be crystal clear what that gift or that dream is, but don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise. Most people simply don’t understand that the words you read, the thoughts you entertain, or even the foods you eat, make all the difference in the world.
