“You’re either first or you’re last.”
-Ricky Bobby from Talladega Nights
When I first heard this, I laughed because of its silly black-or-white stance on life. Obviously life comprises at least 50 shades of grey. But is that really true?
If there is one job and multiple candidates, only one of you can get it. Are you going to shrink in fear at the competition around you? Or will you do whatever it takes to win? You know what you have to do, of course. Hustle.
Is there really such a thing as two alpha males? While each of you may be captain of his own crew, when you come together, only one of you will emerge as the leader. Even when you choose to defer to someone of greater knowledge, skill, or prowess, the suspension of your self-sovereignty should only be temporary. In the long run and in the big picture, you are to be the leader. No one else.
And as for the girl: you either get her, or you don’t. You know you want her. But maybe a newcomer has captured her attention and dragged her away from you. Are you really going to just sit there making half-hearted chit-chat with the boys? Or will you be a man and take her back? You might convince yourself that you don’t care. That plenty of fish abound in the sea. But you do care, don’t you. She’s not going to come running back to you. She wants a man who knows what he wants and takes it–without apology. She’s waiting for you. Step up.

Thanks Traci. So nice to hear from you again :)
Sorry for the absence, my new novel has taken over and my own blog has been neglected too. But, I promise, I’ve been reading everything of yours!

No need to apologize Traci. Keep working on that novel :)
