Understanding something is quite different from knowing it–not unlike the difference between studying horticulture and cultivating your own garden. Knowing means thoughts are inessential to induce you to act; actions erupt from you spontaneously like oak from acorn.

Integrity – The Noble Virtue

Integrity means lining up your walk with your talk. It means doing what you envision; turning ‘I’ll try’ into ‘I’ll do it.’ And it begins with intent.
Back in Business Baby

It took me a while, but I’m back in business baby. I’m ahead on my blog writing, which means I can now concentrate on the book. My life has been rejiggered to accommodate new friends and new projects, and all the puzzle pieces are starting to snap together.
On your journey you’re going to have instances of self-doubt. After all, crags and chasms are part of the terrain. The answer of course is to continually affirm yourself. Even a veteran mountain climber has to steady his feet now and again. You do too, else you fall into the abyss.

Pain is your brain’s way of demanding change. Don’t waste your limited time on this earth trying to run away from it or trying to sweep it under the rug. The Little Things

People are constantly on the lookout for shortcuts–memory tricks and secret societies and wheat grass shots–things that may, by some hitherto unknown mechanism, bring them unbridled intelligence, perfect test scores, and scores of unbridled women. I certainly have been guilty of this kind of thinking a couple of times, ok maybe even a few times, but that’s not the point. The point is that sometimes I too, despite my Shaolin Monk-like mental discipline, wish to have everything I’ve ever wanted, instantaneously, at the snap of my fingers. I’ve worked harder and persevered longer than other people I know, I might tell myself, but I haven’t been quite as lucky! This kind of thinking is poison.
