I tried to be friendly
Though you were hostile.
When I confronted you
You swore denial.
But as I walked off
I caught your smile.
It was then that I realized
This was your style.
You are a snake.
Giving me inches, but taking a mile.
You hissing, slithering, duplicitous snake.
You attacked without grounds
Secreting your bile.
Feigning your innocence
This was your guile.
You thought you had won
By being so vile,
And I held my tongue
In the meanwhile.
But you slipped up, dear Snake!
A mistake you did make, for which you now stand trial.
You hissing, slithering, duplicitous snake.
