“Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough, we must do.”
-Bruce Lee
Why do I write this blog?
I write it to motivate, to move, to change, to inspire–not just you, dear reader, but also myself. I write because the act of writing clarifies my ideas. It organizes them, brings my awareness to them, and affirms them.
Why do I affirm them?
Because without affirmation, your best thoughts might dissipate forever, like a passing wave on the ocean’s surface. Ultimately, there is a partnership between thought and action. Action without thought is like jumping into the deep end of the pool and expecting to figure it out before you drown. Thought without action is like reading about swimming, watching videos about swimming, learning everything there is to know about swimming without actually getting into the pool. Your conscious mind simply cannot hang onto that much information before getting overwhelmed. But your subconscious mind is a vast treasure trove of reflexes, habits, and learned skills. Any knowledge that you deem useful should be applied as soon as possible in order to collect it within the subconscious mind, freeing you to hunt for the next crown jewel in your mental stash.
Whenever a useful idea, insight, or vision rises to the surface, if you affirm it through action, your mind will only become richer with time.
